O-Shot

The O-Shot , or “Orgasm Shot” is an effective, safe technique designed to help not only with enhancing female sexual response, but also to treat conditions such as stress incontinence, uncomfortable intercourse and help heal gynaecological skin conditions.

The O-Shot is a non-invasive vaginal and clitoral rejuvenation treatment carried out by Dr Athreya.

The basis of the treatment is in the novel use of PLATELET RICH PLASMA or PRP. This is obtained from the patients own blood.

PRP, when activated, releases many growth factors and activates stem cells, having the ability to rejuvenate tissues, help with repairing areas of damage, promote rapid healing of areas after surgical and dental procedures. It has been used successfully for many years.

Recently PRP has been used in the field of facial aesthetics. You may have heard of the “Vampire Facelift” where PRP either alone or with dermal fillers is used to help retain support and rejuvenate appearance of facial skin. The “O Shot” ( and “P Shot” for gentlemen) is another application of the remarkable effects of PRP in the genital area, and was invented by the same Doctor as the Vampire Facelift, Dr Charles Runels.

The O-Shot may help to:

  • Enhance female arousal and orgasm intensity
  • Promote an increase in pleasurable sensitivity of the G spot
  • Reduce stress incontinence
  • Rejuvenate the appearance of the labia
  • Help with gynaecological skin conditions such as lichen sclerosis

Following a thorough consultation and explanation, the patient prepares for the treatment by applying local anaesthetic around the labia, vaginal walls and around the clitoris.

Whilst this is having an effect, blood is taken from the patient and it is placed in a very advanced centrifuge, where it is spun precisely to remove the red cells to leave concentrated Platelet Rich Plasma and an amount of Platelet Poor Plasma (PPP). This step may take up to 20 minutes.

A small amount of local anaesthetic is then injected just below the clitoris to help thoroughly anaesthetise the clitoral bulb.

The bulk of the PRP is then injected at the entrance to the vagina in the upper wall. This is largely painless.

The remainder of the PRP is then injected at the base of the clitoral bulb.

PPP can then be injected into labia, to revive sagging labial skin and rejuvenate appearance.

Approximately one hour.

Most things would be explained to you at the first consultation, before the date of your procedure, but of course, plan for the shot mid-cycle and come prepared with a sanitary pad to be worn for some hours after the treatment.

Of course results and speed of effect may vary from patient to patient, but many ladies report an increase in arousal and orgasm intensity for the first week, subsiding over the next 2 weeks but then returning after then.
There can be a significant improvement to those suffering from stress incontinence, and improvement of other conditions over time such as dermatological problems, areas of scarring after childbirth, painful intercourse.

This is very individual but generally we recommend 2-3 treatments over 3-4 months with yearly top-ups.
