BOOK YOUR P-Shot consultation

The P-Shot® is a new non-surgical procedure that is proven to address male sexual health problems, often caused by natural aging, and illnesses such as diabetes, which damage nerves and blood vessels.

50% of adult males aged 40 to 70 will experience sexual changes they consider problematic, including erectile dysfunction (ED), impotence and reduced sexual performance.

Doctor Athreya is one of the first practitioners in the UK to qualify to prescribe and administer the P-Shot treatment.  The painless procedure takes approx. 45 minutes and patients experience no post-appointment side effects.

The basis of the treatment is in the novel use of PLATELET RICH PLASMA or PRP. This is obtained from the patients own blood.

PRP, when activated, releases many growth factors and activates stem cells, having the ability to rejuvenate tissues, help with repairing areas of damage, promote rapid healing of areas after surgical and dental procedures. It has been used successfully for many years.

Recently PRP has been used in the field of facial aesthetics. You may have heard of the “Vampire Facelift” where PRP either alone or with dermal fillers is used to help retain support and rejuvenate appearance of facial skin. The “O Shot” ( and “P Shot” for gentlemen) is another application of the remarkable effects of PRP in the genital area, and was invented by the same Doctor as the Vampire Facelift, Dr Charles Runels.

For gentlemen, the P shot is known to:

  • enhance performance and improve erectile dysfunction and ejaculation
  • can be used in the management of painful, long-term penile skin conditions such as lichen sclerosus
  • is achieving success in the non-surgical management of Peyronies disease
  • enhance penile size when used as part of a treatment regime utilising a penile pump

After a thorough consultation process, the process involves taking a sample of your blood and concentrating it to remove the PLATELET-RICH PLASMA, the healing part of the blood. This PRP contains growth factors that stimulate stem cells and cause regeneration of the local tissue within which it is injected.

After the PRP is isolated, it is injected into four points on the shaft of the penis and into the glans. We use a local anaesthetic injection to numb the penis prior to the procedure.

Cheek fillers can be used to correct asymmetries, and tighten the overlying skin.

Approximately 45 minutes.

The procedure is very safe and well tolerated- in order to get the best quality PRP a good diet with exercise is encouraged at least two weeks prior to procedure.

Following the treatment one can return to sexual activity almost immediately.

Use of medication such as Cialis and Viagra is encouraged as it stimulates penile circulation helping the PRP distribution.

There may be some very mild soreness for 1-2 hours post-procedure but additionally, there will also be an element of numbness following the local anaesthetic that may not fully wear off until some hours have passed.

This is very individual but generally we recommend 2-3 treatments over 3-4 months with yearly top-ups.
