Cervical screening also known as a smear test is an important test. It’s recommended that all women over the age of 25 have this on a regular basis in order to monitor the health of the
cervix.
It means that if we find any abnormalities we can get in there and treat them before they cause cervical cancer.
In the clinic we test for both human papiloma virus or HPV, in addition to looking at the cells in detail to see if any abnormalities have occurred.
