Advanced Certificate in Menopause Care
I trained at University College London, and I come from a medical family. I really love being a private GP; getting to know the people I help and using my many years of training and experience to get to the root cause of a person’s symptoms, and then providing a really effective solution. It’s a bit like solving a complicated medical puzzle.
I have Diplomas in Child Health and Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare and provide specialist care in the fitting and removal of contraceptive implants and coils.
I am passionate about helping women on their menopause journey, and I hold the Advanced Certificate of Menopause Care. I’m recognised as a Menopause Specialist by the British Menopause Society and I provide expert, holistic menopause care for women, including HRT treatment.
I believe in giving patients the proper amount of time that they need to discuss their concerns. It’s important that the person feels that they are in a space where they can feel really listened to, and it enables me to be really detailed and thorough in my assessment of the whole clinical picture. If an onward referral is needed to secondary care, I will liaise with my network of excellent Consultants, and strive to ensure seamless care, and any investigations needed are carried out in a timely manner.
In my spare time, I enjoy quality time with my family, exercising outdoors, reading fiction, going to the theatre, and spending a Sunday in the garden with a BBQ.

Growing up I always knew I wanted to be a doctor, and as a GP, it’s been a real privilege to be able to provide medical care for patients and their families throughout their lives. I’m really interested in people, and helping them to live fulfilling and healthy lives.
At Essex Private Doctors I have the time to carefully listen to all your concerns and questions, and my very broad range of experience means I can help you, whatever your problem.
I trained at Barts and The Royal London School of Medicine, and have spent time working in a variety of disciplines in London teaching hospitals. I grew my expertise in Sport and Exercise Medicine and Occupational Health Medicine whilst working as clinician in the army, and I am currently an NHS GP in Bishops Stortford.
I consider myself to be a true generalist, but I have specialist interests in:
- Men’s health
- Sports injuries
- Joint injections
- Minor surgery
- Neurodiversity in children
When I’m not looking after my patients, I can usually be found fishing, and I love exploring remote areas of the great outdoors.

One of the most rewarding aspects of being a GP is being able to help a person improve their quality of life, and not only their health. Working in Private Practice allows me to give plenty of time to my patients; I can get to know each person well, and I can provide proper continuity of care. It also means that we can address more than one problem at a time, and really get to bottom of an issue or concern. It’s how General Practice should be.
I am a true generalist, but I especially like helping older patients, who may have complex medical problems, or may be on a variety of medications. I am passionate about helping people back to full independence, and leading healthy lives. I also enjoy being able to reassure parents who are worried about their child, and I have a particular interest in ear, nose and throat (ENT) problems.
When I’m not caring for my patients, I’m a busy parent, but make time for playing tennis, running, arts and crafts with the kids, and cooking for friends and family.

As a GP, I offer comprehensive care with a focus on lifestyle medicine—an approach that emphasises health optimisation and disease prevention through sustainable lifestyle changes.
My areas of expertise include:
- Lifestyle Medicine.
- Musculoskeletal pain and sports injuries, including joint injection, trigger finger, and carpal tunnel injection treatments.
- Women’s health and gynaecological issues, including ring pessary fittings.
- Paediatric care (I’m a mother of two daughters).
I’ve always been an athlete, and this naturally blossomed into an interest in health and people. I pride myself on being a traditional family doctor, valuing the relationships I build with patients, their families and our wider community.
When I’m not looking after my patients, I enjoy an active lifestyle, including running and playing netball.

I’ve always been drawn to the variety of general practice—no two days are ever the same, and I love the continuity of care it allows me to have with my patients. From newborns to the elderly, I enjoy looking after people throughout all stages of life, helping them stay well and supporting them when they aren’t.
I trained at Imperial College London before completing my GP training in Colchester. Over the years, I’ve worked in a wide range of medical specialities, including paediatrics, psychiatry, elderly care, and obstetrics and gynaecology. I hold additional postgraduate qualifications in child health, women’s health, and family planning. I’ve spent a significant part of my career working closely with care homes, supporting older adults with complex needs.
At Essex Private Doctors, I’m excited to offer my patients the time and attention they deserve. The longer appointments allow me to take a more in-depth approach, whether that’s helping someone struggling with their mental health, investigating the root cause of fatigue, or optimising men’s health concerns such as low testosterone, prostate issues, and sexual health.
I have a particular interest in:
- Children’s health – from routine check-ups to ongoing care for chronic conditions
- Men’s health – including prostate concerns, erectile dysfunction, and general well-being
- Mental health – working with patients to address stress, anxiety, and depression
- Care of the elderly – providing comprehensive, compassionate medical support for older patients
- Health screening and preventative care – helping patients to become robust and stay one step ahead of illness
Outside of work, I’m a dad to three boys, and when I’m not chasing after them, I love playing tennis and cricket. I also coach a local youth cricket team, which is great fun (if a little chaotic at times!).

I really value the traditional family doctor relationship I have with patients and their families. I take time to get the know the person and what’s important to them as an individual.
I have a passion for helping people who may be experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, and stress, that is impacting their lives. It is very rewarding to help people navigate through a difficult time to a better place, and to see the benefits that it brings not only the person, but also in their work and close relationships.
I have extensive experience in dermatology, aesthetics and minor surgery (completing a Diplomas in Dermatology, and I hold a Professional BTEC Award for Laser and Aesthetic Therapies). I really enjoy helping people to literally be more comfortable in their own skin, be it looking after a young child with persistent eczema, through to carefully removing an uncomfortable epidermal cyst.
Outside of Clinic life, I love to be outside – running marathons, climbing, and keeping fit.
Happiness is everything to me, and it’s my goal for my patients to lead healthy and happy, fulfilling lives.

I am a registered dietitian with extensive experience in clinical dietetics, research, and education. Currently, I work academically as a lecturer and researcher at University College London (UCL) and Addenbrooke’s Hospital, while also serving as a specialist dietitian at Cambridge University Hospital. I am deeply involved in menopause support and education, playing a key role in the Menopause Support and Education Programme at UCL, where we develop pioneering nutrition-led approaches to hormone health, metabolic function, and ageing.
With over a decade of experience spanning women’s health, gut health, metabolic conditions, and longevity, my work focuses on helping patients optimise their nutrition, manage chronic conditions, and build sustainable dietary habits. My specialist research into hormonal health, sarcopenia (age-related muscle loss), and metabolic function has been presented internationally and at leading medical institutions.
At Essex Private Doctors, I offer evidence-based dietetic consultations that are tailored to your individual needs—whether that’s supporting menopause nutrition, managing PCOS, addressing digestive issues like IBS and bloating, or achieving sustainable weight loss. I take a whole-body approach, using advanced body composition analysis, metabolic health screening, and personalised nutrition planning to help you achieve long-term, realistic dietary changes that fit your lifestyle.
My areas of specialist interest include:

- Diabetes & Blood Sugar Control – Supporting stable blood sugar, insulin sensitivity, and long-term metabolic health.
- Heart Health & Cholesterol Management – Using diet to improve cardiovascular health and reduce disease risk.
I believe that good nutrition isn’t about strict rules—it’s about making informed, sustainable choices that truly support your health. Whether you’re looking to boost your energy, balance your hormones, or take control of a medical condition, I’d love to help you feel your best through the power of nutrition.
