Preparation for Your Appointment:

• It is important to use reliable contraception (e.g. condoms or abstaining from intercourse) for 7 days prior to having a coil removed, unless you wish to conceive. If you forget and then the coil cannot be safely removed, the appointment fee will not be refunded.
• Occasionally it is not possible to remove the coil (e.g. if the threads cannot be found) in which case you will be provided with an onward referral for investigations or to see a specialist. In this case, the cost of the consultation is not refundable.
