Dr Alice Scott
Dr Alice Scott - Clinical Lead
Dr Alice Scott BSc MBBS DCH DFSRH MRCGP (Excellence)
Advanced Certificate in Menopause Care
I’m Dr Alice Scott, a GP and registered British Menopause Specialist. I founded Essex Menopause Clinic because too many women were receiving rushed, generic menopause care that didn’t meet their needs.
Building a Different Kind of Menopause Service
I designed this service to deliver individualised care with proper follow-up, not tick-box consultations or one-size-fits-all prescriptions.
As Clinical Lead, I set our clinical standards, supervise the team, and ensure prescribing remains evidence-based and tailored to each patient. We hold regular meetings to discuss complex cases and stay current with evolving guidance. This means every patient benefits from collaborative clinical thinking, not just one practitioner’s approach.
How I can help:
Whilst some menopause consultations are straightforward, many aren’t.
I regularly care for women whose menopause has become complicated or challenging.
When standard HRT isn’t working:
- Persistent symptoms despite trying multiple HRT preparations
- Side effects from standard HRT regimens
- Progesterone intolerance causing anxiety, mood changes, or bloating
- Difficulty finding the right HRT formulation or dose
Intimate and gynaecological issues:
- Vulval problems including lichen sclerosus
- Painful sex (dyspareunia) and vaginal dryness not responding to basic treatments
- Problematic bleeding patterns that need careful investigation
- Concerns about testosterone replacement and loss of libido
Complex presentations:
- Perimenopausal chaos: irregular cycles, unpredictable symptoms, difficulty knowing what’s happening
- Severe mood disturbance, anxiety, or depression interacting with menopause
- Sleep disruption affecting every aspect of daily life
- Brain fog, memory problems, and cognitive changes
- Weight gain that feels impossible to shift
- Menopause alongside existing health conditions like diabetes, thyroid disorders, or autoimmune disease
Situations requiring niche expertise input:
- Women with a history of breast cancer or other hormone-sensitive cancers
- Complex medical histories where HRT safety needs careful consideration
- Women who’ve been told they can’t have HRT but are struggling significantly
Wellbeing Medicine: The Bigger Picture
Menopause doesn’t exist in isolation. Hormones interact with sleep, mood, weight, cognition, stress, and physical health. I look beyond “fix the hot flushes” to understand how menopause affects your energy, mental clarity, relationships, work performance, and overall quality of life.
How I Work with Patients
Many women arrive feeling unheard or confused by previous care. My role is to listen properly and explain what’s happening in clear terms.
HRT can be transformative when used well, but it’s not the complete answer for everyone. Some women don’t want hormonal treatment; for others, medical circumstances make it unsuitable. I take time to explain all options, including non-hormonal approaches, alongside realistic expectations. We’ll look holistically at lifestyle, stress, sleep, mental health, and overall wellbeing, not just hormones.
Most importantly, I want you to feel informed, supported, and back in control of your health.`
Book with me if you need an extended specialist consultation delivering in-depth assessment and a bespoke menopause management strategy.

Dr Eleanor Beddoe MBBS (MRCGP)
Certificate in Management of the Menopause
GP with Specialist Training in Menopause Care
I’m Dr Beddoe, a GP with a particular interest in women’s health and menopause care.
I’ve completed the British Menopause Society’s Certificate in the Management of the Menopause, and my goal is to use my experience and current evidence-based knowledge to support women through their hormone health journey and symptom management.
I also bring specialist expertise in allergy medicine, including histamine intolerance. This is particularly relevant because histamine intolerance can worsen during menopause, creating additional layers of complexity that many women don’t realise are connected.
My approach is straightforward and caring: I want you to feel listened to, properly understood, and confident in the care and treatment you’re receiving.

Dr Zoe Bailey
Dr Zoe Bailey
Dr Zoe Bailey MBBS, MRCGP, DRCOG
Certificate in Management of the Menopause
GP with Specialist Training in Menopause Care
I’m Dr Bailey and I’ve been a GP for nearly two decades. I’m passionate about giving my patients the attention they deserve. That means exploring your menopausal and perimenopausal symptoms in an in-depth way, and understanding how they may be impacting you as a person. It means continuity of care (so you’re not constantly explaining yourself to someone new) and genuinely listening to what you’re telling me, so I can best use my many years of experience to help and support you.
Menopause can feel chaotic and confusing, with symptoms that seem to come from nowhere and connect to everything. My role is to make sense of what’s happening, provide evidence-based care, and help you navigate this journey with clarity and confidence.
